Offered is a detailed cast aluminum model of a Baker steam traction engine, a tribute to the engineering legacy of the A.D. Baker Company, founded by Abner D. Baker in Swanton, Ohio.
The original Baker steam engines, produced until 1929, were renowned for their mechanical innovations, including the center-hung reverse valve gear, balance valve and seat, adjustable rear axle boxes, and the Uniflow Cylinder. Beyond steam, the company later manufactured gas tractors and other farm equipment until World War II.
This model captures the spirit of that pioneering era in American agricultural and industrial history—an excellent collectible for enthusiasts of steam power, farming machinery, or Ohio-made heritage equipment.
