Up for auction are two wonderful books by Dr. Seuss – "And To Think That I Saw It On Mulberry Street" NO LONGER IN PRINT!
And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street by Dr. Seuss:
This was Theodor Geisel's (Dr. Seuss's) first published children's book, released in 1937. This edition was printed in 1964 and is in near MINT CONDITION!! Slight wear on corners of the hard cover – PAGES are MINT!
The story follows a boy named Marco who uses his imagination to create an elaborate story about a horse-drawn cart he saw on Mulberry Street to tell his father.
In 2021, Dr. Seuss Enterprises announced they would no longer publish or license this book, among others, due to what they described as "hurtful and wrong" portrayals of people (one statement in book: A Chinese boy Who eats with sticks).
Maybe You Should Fly a Jet! Maybe You Should Be a Vet! by Theo. LeSieg, illustrated by Michael J. Smollin:
Theo. LeSieg is a pseudonym used by Theodor Geisel (Dr. Seuss) for books he wrote but did not illustrate.
First edition 1980. Cover has edge staining from age and a bit of wear, but the pages inside are mint!
These books are part of the "Beginner Books" series, as indicated on the covers.
Fascinating collectible books! Rare to see them in such good condition. See pictures for further details. Happy Bidding!
