Offered for auction is a vintage Coro Craft rhinestone starburst (snowflake-style) brooch, an elegant example of mid-century modern jewelry design, likely dating to the 1940s–1950s. This striking piece is signed “Sterling,” indicating a solid sterling silver base, a hallmark of Coro’s premium production during the WWII and post-war era.
The brooch features brilliant clear rhinestones set into a radiating atomic-inspired starburst design, capturing the bold yet refined aesthetic of the period. Two very small fleck-sized rhinestones are missing; these were extremely difficult to detect even upon close inspection and are virtually unnoticeable during normal wear or display. This minor detail does not detract from the overall beauty, sparkle, or visual impact of the piece.
Coro was among the most influential costume jewelry manufacturers of the 20th century, with the Coro Craft / Sterling Craft lines representing some of its most desirable and collectible offerings. Comparable signed Coro sterling rhinestone brooches commonly sell in the $50 to $100+ range, depending on design, rarity, and condition.
An excellent addition to any vintage jewelry, mid-century modern, or signed designer costume jewelry collection.
